The end of Yahoo ?

So Yahoo is planning to cut a load of jobs to increase its own profits…hmmm and gain more focus to crucial areas. Well I think it’s a shame, surely a collective number of people working on new ideas in search and actively developing the engine has to be better than reducing jobs… but of course it’s really all about profits.

Yahoo say they want to be a starting point for consumers whilst extending other offerings such as advertising and opening up their technology.

Their areas of focus hardly seem revolutionary ? How about trying something original…

Yahoo I don’t like this !

I think its standard now that Search Engines mark the in a different colour

Zynga Gaming Search Engines

Fancy luring more traffic to your site? Then why not develop an online game to go with it… The reinvention of popular card games like poker have certainly upped the traffic for Zynga.

Zynga follow the strategy that I mentioned some weeks ago about building on social networks which in turn can bring you lots of advertising revenue.  Zynga have already amassed over 7,000 applications since being made public on Facebook.

Who said that online gaming was dead ?

Zippy Offline for Upgrade

Just to let you know that Zippy.co.uk has been taken down today so that it can undergo a major database restructure. Due to the increase in search volume that it has been getting in recent months it needs an overhaul to make it quick and more efficient again. We hope to get Zippy back up and running in the next few months.

Some of the tools are going to be taken into a private area shortly … and I’ll be releasing those details shortly.

Wordpress Development Plugins

Wordpress as a content management tool is great, lets face it everything is in one place and the development opportunities are somewhat endless. The amount of scrapers on the web can be a real pain in the neck, so when a new plugin is developed that makes scrapers work for you rather than against you my ears pricked up.

Why not have a look at Joost’s latest working make scrapers work for you.
