The links in the posts are trojans, so maybe just maybe the Digg moderators could stop burying sites and star clean up the Malware on their site .. btw the Digg this was all I needed to get you put on the malware black list at 3 clients sites this week

T-Mobile has announced the new all singing all dancing Sidekick 2008 this week. Iv’e been using T-Mobile with web and walk for the last year or so, well until last week when the Nokia phone I was using died. T-Mobile’s answer to this was for me to drive to nearest store and hand the phone in where I may get ( if indeed there are any left at the store)  a “loan phone” for a week, while my Nokia gets repaired. Not impressed. Perhaps I’m just over wary of T-Mobile after a £280 bill for using web and walk while on holiday for a week in Spain. So if anyone has a spare compatible T-Mobile phone feel free to send ;)   So basically at the moment I am locked into a contract with no mobile phone to use.  Previously to this I called T-Mobile about the poor reception of the phone in all areas, the technical department advised taking the battery and the Sim card out and putting them back in, then said it was down to billing which I had paid on-time ?

That said the new sidekick is still appealing to me if only as a messaging device.  I’d probably opt for the T-mobile sidekick LX  Tony Hawk Edition.

I’ve known Dave now for quite some time. Over this time I have observed he never misses an opportunity to support a worthwhile cause, his generosity demonstrated at charitable events I think speaks volumes about his ethos. Those who know him well I am certain will concur that charity is very much close to his own heart. I also think it fair to say Dave is more forgiving than I am,  perhaps that’s experience talking.

Dave’s company- Bronco is also very community focused often helping out companies local to Ripon North Yorkshire where we are based.

Mel Carson (Microsoft adCenter Community Manager) needed an update to his blog design, Dave offered to help out in return for Mel donating to charity. Mel needed a re-design that would be readily accepted by the community and its readers.

Mel had this to say ” My personal Internet marketing blog was long overdue for a re-design. I knew the importance of portraying my ideas and concepts in a style that was both up-to-date and community focused. Dave offered the services of the Bronco web design team if in return I made a charitable donation. The feedback from the community was very positive. The charity of choice was the Sunrise Children’s Centre revamp project in Kent undertaken by the Microsoft adCenter team. The centre is an innovative resource for children with disabilities and is the first of its kind, being county specific. Its unique approach offers support not only to the children with the disability, but to those closest to them such as parents and carers. Due for an upgrade at the centre is the games room, sensory garden and the outside play area so the team will be working hard in the next few months to achieve this. You can see that Internet Explorer is by far the most dominate browser out there no surprises :

and I honestly expected more Firefox 3 users out of 1 Million only 7,908 Firefox 3 users!

Internet Explorer 7.0 and Internet Explorer 6.0 are head to head which surprised me a little

Added : the site is a commercial site and informational for young working professionals, no adsense !

yer I know it’s against the grain at the moment to say that Knol should be ranking, but at the end of the day the how to backpack is a good well written article with over 74 comments, and our industry leaders like Danny Sullivan linking to it ..

OK, let’s do a quick list of things that may upset some Webmasters :

Pagerank Drop: My Instant Messenger hasn’t stopped today with people saying things like “Honest Dave I haven’t done anything wrong yet I have dropped PageRank”. Don’t worry ME TOO. I was a PageRank 6, now I’m a PageRank 5 it seems pretty epidemic PR went down for most.

New Pages didn’t get indexed: Me Too again, we changed the structure on DavidNaylor.co.uk, and added our contact page into the pages section and created the SEO Services page which linked to search engine optimisation, pay per click management and search engine marketing pages.

Of course the links and pages have been around for 3 months but NO Google indexing, but it’s the contact one that hurts the most I guess, it should rank for contact David Naylor at least lol.

Pages that look like they have been hand removed: Google doesn’t show my page but it’s in Google Cache

To me it looks like that page has been hand removed. But why? I’m lucky. Even with that page excluded from the index I still rank for my contact details. Other pages that have suffered the same fate have dropped 8 or 9 pages in the rankings with no reason for those pages to be removed. No link buying had occurred ( in-fact no link building).

This is worrying, most people that have been in contact today and yesterday feel they have done nothing wrong. Yet in Google their sites have dropped. The fact that they were so scared that Google would do this made them stop link building altogether and watch over the last 3 -4 months their competitors that are link buying slowly overtake them.

A rival for both Google and Microsoft search ? Well Anna Patterson a former Google employee is hoping so, with the launch of  her new search engine Cuil  “cool” which hopes to deliver much greater relevance in search engine results than Google and Microsoft Search.  Danny Sullivan has already endorsed the Cuil search engine as “promising”

The search index of Cuil is large but can Cuil really take on Google and Microsoft ?

Over the last few weeks on various blog’s I’ve noticed many commenting on others grammar or spelling. (Even mine, ohh the shame of it) Seems to me it’s all too easy to read through a post and pick as many holes in it as possible. Surely if the message is conveyed in such a way that most people understand what you are talking about nothing is lost in the odd spelling mistake or extra comma, etc.
I agree a spellchecker is a must have, but come on, lighten up those folks checking every word! SEO’s often share their thoughts and ideas just as they come into their head, keep this in mind next time you point out the next error.

So next time you get a clever person on your blog… just reply STFUGG, perhaps this will be a new internet word ;) Shut the f*** up Grammar Geek.

would you name you child anything like this, seriously Talula does the hula from hawaii… I nearly crash my car today with laughter when on Radio 1, there was a report about a child been ward of court in New Zealand, and the judge was getting all Pissy that she wouldn’t give her name, she just said call me “K”, the judge finally made her say “Talula does the hula from hawaii”… she is been allowed to change her name.. go figure
